The Crown Plaza is one of the best places to stay. You cannot be any closer to the air port It is practically across the street. I remember being here for a United Federation Teachers convention and we had a fabulous time. We were served a buffet breakfast and a buffet lunch. The food was excellent and plentiful. The meeting rooms were just the right size, big enough to hold everyone but not so big that you could not concentrate on what was going on. The staff was very attentive and ready to answer any question. Make your reservations here as early as you can. I have had people be very disappointed because they were full. One of the reasons for this, besides the quality of the hotel, is the location. It is only 20 minutes to Manhattan. The subway is only 4 blocks away, and there is a bus right across the street that takes you right over the 59th Street Bridge. It is also convenient to local attractions. Queens Center Mall is within walking distance, or take the bus right by the hotel. The Mall of America many be the biggest mall in the United States in size, but in volume, Queens Center Mall takes the prize. The anchor stores are JC Penny and Macy’s and the are many small variety stores. It is also convenient to many restaurants. There is an excellent diner to you right as you come out of the door and you can take that same bus a little further down Queens Boulevard to Forest Hills and enjoy some of the first class restaurants there.
The hotel it self isone of the best places to stay. There is plenty of free parking and if you want to eat in the in house restaurant is Duke’s Steak House. They also supply free transportation to Kennedy or La Guadia. The rooms come with soundproofing and black out curtains so you can shut out the outside world. They have 220 newly-remodeled guest rooms; Spacious interiors with modern styling; Double, Twin Double and Queen-size room bedding; King-size Suites; Central Air Conditioning and Heating; Speed-programmed Direct Dial telephones; Refrigerators with built-in freezer units (in most rooms); Color Cable TV with AM/FM radios
