Top Ten Songs by Alicia Keys

Alicia Keys has been around a lot longer than many people may realize. It took her some time but she finally reached the point where she was ready to introduce herself to the world. That she did in a big way in 2001 with her first Album Songs in A Minor, which quickly became a big success. Her fist single to hit number one on the charts and launch her career was “Fallin”. In this song she showed that not only could she sing, but she could play the piano as well. First allow me to give you a little background information on Ms. Keys.

She first started learning to play the piano when she was just seven years old. She loved any music by classical composers, such as Beethoven, and Mozart. The song “Butterflyz” which appeared on her first album was written by her at the age of fourteen. She writes and composes just about all of her songs. The majority of her songs on her first album were written when she was young, which just shows the endless amount of talent that she has.

There was some controversy however with the song “Fallin”, because some critics felt that it sounded too much like James Browns song “It’s a Man’s World”. Although this could just be because her style of music is very similar to that generation. Either way it got her about four Grammy’s. Some more number one songs that were written by Alicia Keys is “If I aint got you”, “You don’t know my name”, “Brotha Part III”, “A Woman’s Worth”, “Gansta Lovin”, “Diary”, “Karma”, “How come you don’t call me”, “Girlfriend”, “My Boo”.

Not only are her songs hits but her performances are as well. When she gets on stage she definitely puts her all into each and every performance. She has even had the privilege of performing with some of the hottest celebrities in the business like, Stevie Wonder, Jamie Foxx, and even Quincy Jones. Because Alicia is so young, we can definitely expect to hear even more great music from her in the future. I wonder if we will see her in any movies soon. I think that when it comes to Alicia we can expect just about anything.

Two of my personal favorite songs that she performed live on MTV unplugged is “Every Little Bit Hurts”, and “Unbreakable”. If you have not had the pleasure of hearing her perform this song live then you should take the time and visit her official website which is www.aliciakeys.com. There you will be able to read about any upcoming events and even learn a little more about her. This year she was nominated for the Billboard’s R&B Hip Hop awards.

If you ever get the opportunity to meet her in person then you will see that she is a very down to earth person, who always takes extra time to speak to her fans or sign an autograph. It is definitely good to see that she has not forgotten where she came from. She also always takes the time to help and support children who don’t have much.

One thing that I really love about her website is that she records a new audio blog for her fans frequently. I don’t know of too many stars who actually take the time to do this. I also enjoy taking the time to read her journal, it helps you to get to know her, and find out more about her. I am sure that in 2007 we can look forward to a lot more from Alicia, which will mean a lot more awards for her. But one thing we can definitely say is that she earned them.
