Top Ten Songs by Sting

Born in 1951 in northeast England, Gordan Sumner, better known as Sting, has had a long and successful musical career, both as a solo artist, and as the lead singer and composer of the rock band The Police.

Sting had many jobs throughout his life, including being a teacher at St. Paul’s First School. But he always aspired to be a musician. Sting joined the Police in 1977, and he, Stewart Copeland, and Andy Summers enjoyed great commercial success, scoring several top 10 hits before unofficially disbanding in 1984. (The band has reunited several times since then.)

In 1985, Sting released his first solo album, The Dream of the Blue Turtles. The album, which featured several talented jazz musicians, was a major commercial and critical success for Sting. The film Bring on the Night documents the formation of that project, giving fans a chance to see Sting at work.

Since then, Sting has released several more successful albums, including âÂ?¦Nothing Like the Sun (1987), Ten Summoner’s Tales (1993), and Brand New Day (1999). Sting has also given acting a try. He has appeared in the movies Dune (1984) and The Bride (1985), as well as in TV shows like The Simpsons and Ally McBeal.
