Top Ten Songs by the Foo Fighters

10: Learn to Fly is a pop-driven song, written by Dave Grohl. It’s timing of drums and rhythm is excellent. This is a great modern rock song that will always stand the test of time. It’s a song that will make people want to get up and start moshing in their living rooms or at a restaurant. It’s upbeat music will put a smile on your face as the Foo Fighters turn it up a notch in having fun with music.

9: How I Miss You is a love song that many people can relate to. You can slow dance to this song, and always remember your significant other. It’s a sweet song that will make any girl go, “awww”. It’s one of those songs that make you think of someone else who you can’t live without, but you’ll always think about, no matter what.

8: Times Like These is a reminder of hard times and another song anyone can relate to. It should remind you that no matter how awful some things get, people will be there to help, and ensure your happiness or belonging on this earth. A powerful meaning with a nice rock taste.

7: Doll is a short introduction to the album The Colour and the Shape, but it is such a sweet song by Dave Grohl, that ranks in at number seven. It’s a short and mellow song that involves relationship advice, to a point. There’s always more to a person than you really think.

6: Walking After You is another slow and mellow song. This song shows Dave’s softer side. A side not shown on other albums. A nice warm way of showing how much you love your spouse, no matter what happens with the two of you and how deeply in love someone is with someone else.

5: Big Me is an essential song for the Foo Fighters and Dave Grohl, especially. It shows that Dave Grohl can really write a pop song, with catchy tunes. His harder edge with bands like Scream and Nirvana isn’t present in this song. The catchiest song by the Foo Fighters is a great way to get into the band.

4: Monkey Wrench is right after Doll in The Colour and the Shape, and it’s a great song to follow Doll. Monkey Wrench is so hard and so fast, Dave Grohl wants you to pick up the stereo and throw it against the wall because of how hard and fast it is. An absolute rebel song, and how you don’t want to be used by anyone. It’s a throw in your face song that will knock you onto the floor.

3: I’ll Stick Around was on the first album by the Foo Fighters, and it showed Dave Grohl was still inspired by the whole grunge era. Its grungy vocals and deep tune guitars and drums make it a perfect post-grunge song. A gloomy song that I can relate to.

2: My Hero is one of the best songs written by Dave Grohl. Most believe that the song is about a dream that Grohl had about Kurt Cobain, but he denies it and says it’s about your hero. The hero inside of you or the people around you that you consider your hero. A fireman can be your hero, a policeman, a teacher, your mother and father, or anyone else for that matter. It’s a very personal song to you and to Dave Grohl.

1: Although my favourite song by the Foo Fighters is My Hero, I believe Everlong is a better song than My Hero. Everything about this song makes you feel like you’re listening to the perfect song. The music on it is gorgeous. How the guitars just bring chills to your spine and the whispering and the gloomy vocals of Dave Grohl. The hard beats of the drums makes you feel like this is never going to end. Its melodic tune brings an upbeat song to their album. Possibly the best song in the post-grunge era.
