Valentine Wedding: A Romantic Ceremony for Sweethearts

For the most romantic of couples, Valentine’s Day, or a day close to it, makes the perfect wedding day. This is the perfect opportunity to make use of hearts, cupids, doves, and plenty of roses. After all, when else will you have the perfect opportunity to incorporate chubby cherubs into dÃ?©cor?

The wedding dress for a valentine wedding can reflect the heart theme one expects from such an affair. The neckline can be heart-shaped with a V neck and off the shoulder bodice. If that is too racy, it is possible to have special necklines made to resemble the flowing curves of the heart. The bottom of the wedding dress should full, with definite softness. It is possible to have the hem of the dress and edge of the veil embroidered with small red hearts or rosebuds. This adds a Valentine look without being ostentatious. Rather than carrying an entire bouquet of roses, the bride might consider carrying a single, deep red, long-stemmed rose. This is very romantic, and nothing says “Valentine” as elegantly as a long-stemmed rose.

Decorations can include red and white roses, or deep pink roses if red is not the preferred color. Indeed, if red is not preferred, lavender, shades of pink, and white can all be substituted. This turns the whole wedding and reception into a true romantic fairyland. Gold or silver can be infused without the decorations, which can include metallic cupids or bunches of roses tied with gold or silver ribbons. Hearts lined in gold or silver also make very nice wedding decorations.

Centerpieces can include three white candles of different sizes, tied with gold ribbon, with rose petals strewn around them. Clear cupid sculptures or stylized doves also make good centerpieces. You can use wedding favors as your centerpieces as well. Jordan almonds in small gift bags or Hershey Hugs and Kisses wrapped in tulle. Use heart shaped tins to hold sugar cookies half dipped in chocolate. Another nice idea is small champagne glasses filled with cinnamon hearts. You can have your wedding date and names etched onto the glasses if you want them used as remembrance favors.

Finally, leave the wedding in style in a horse-drawn carriage. In most places you should have a roofed carriage outfitted with a warm rug. If it is too far to the reception from the wedding location, you can always set out in the carriage and go a few blocks, where you will be set down near a car that can take you the rest of the way. A white limo adorned with red ribbons can also make a romantic conveyance.
