Vegetarian Friendly Restaurants in Milwaukee
Vegetarian Friendly Restaurants in Milwaukee: Beans and Barley
1901 E. North Ave.
Milwaukee, WI

MCTS Routes: 21, 30, 15
An airy-spaced restaurant attached to a small grocery store, Beans and Barley remains a locus of activity for the East Side’s many bicycle-riding veg-heads. I’d give nods to the vegetarian chili with bulgur wheat and some minor kick, as well as the black bean burrito. And the grilled portabella sandwich is perfect for a fun guy. (Sorry, I couldn’t resist.) Be warned, though, the place gets extremely busy, especially on weekends. Sometimes it’s so crowded and boisterously rushed that even the awesome foods can’t compensate.
Vegetarian Friendly Restaurants in Milwaukee: Caf© Lulu
2261 S. Howell Ave. (at KK and Lincoln)
Milwaukee, WI

One of my favorite little places in Milwaukee isn’t so little anymore. Though it started off in an old counter diner in a sleepy corner of Bayview, it’s now a lively anchor to a growing strip of funky stuff. While they do tasty things with meat, Lulu is also vegetarian friendly restaurants in Milwaukee. Their yummy pizzas, roast veggie pita, and rustic Tuscan salad are just a few of the options – not counting their eggy brunch fare. With down-to-earth service and reasonable prices, CafÃ?© Lulu is an unfussy but still trend-friendly place to take a non-meat date.
Vegetarian Friendly Restaurants in Milwaukee: Abu’s Restaurant
1978 N. Farwell Ave.
Milwaukee, WI
MCTS Routes: 30, 15
Middle Eastern cuisine always provides vegetarian friendly options: hummus, baba ghanouj, squash soups, falafel, pita bread, and more. Abu’s is, in my opinion, the best Middle Eastern restaurant in Milwaukee and a swell place for a casual, unpretentious date. Check out my review here.
Vegetarian Friendly Restaurants in Milwaukee: Barossa
235 S. 2nd St.
Milwaukee, WI
MCTS Routes: 19, 18, 15, 11, 14
An innovative addition to the scene of vegetarian friendly restaurants in Milwaukee, Barossa blends a wine bar and an organic (but certainly not meatless) menu. Adding the robust wine assortment to the warm, semi-sleek dÃ?©cor makes their many vegetarian options seem vaguely upscale – sort of urbanely casual. Expect hip diners and some attitude from the staff, but enjoy the ways in which they weave together locally grown produce with accoutrements, as in the delicious ratatouille.
Vegetarian Friendly Restaurants in Milwaukee: Noodles and Company
www.noodles.com – multiple locations in Milwaukee
All the noodle bowls are initially meatless, and diners choose if they want to add chicken, beef, or tofu. Not only is this one of the easiest places to satisfy a vegetarian in Milwaukee, but it’s also incredibly cheap when you don’t add meat. If you drink water instead of soda, you can get a heaping bowl of Pasta Fresca, Indonesian Peanut Saute, or Peso Cavaptappi for under $6! It’s fast, delicious, and budget-conscious.
