Visiting Rosamond Gifford Zoo
In June 2005, the zoo opened their new “Penguin Coast Exhibit.” The zoo recently acquired 18 Humboldt penguins and they are now on display for the public. In addition to the penguins, the Rosamond Gifford Zoo welcomed three baby spoonbill birds. The zoo has plenty of fun for the whole family and they are often having special events pertaining to different animals in the park. For instance, the zoo recently celebrated the birthday of three tiger cubs and scheduled a cake eating event for them, which the public was able to view.
Rosamond Gifford Zoo currently has hundreds of animals on display. When a person enters the zoo, they will be given a map to guide them along their way. There are many large outdoor animals, pond animals, marine life, indoor animals and more. For instance, Rosamond Gifford Zoo contains a gray wolf, domestic yaks, bison, snow leopards, tundra swans, penguins, a bald eagle, pheasants, owls, barking tree frogs, eastern painted turtles, snakes, elephants, lions, squirrel monkeys, vampire bats, and much more.
