Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom

Walt Disney World offers four major theme parks along with many other large attractions such as two water parks, a large shopping area, numerous hotels and a huge movie complex. There is even an interactive video game area Disney Quest that is aimed directly at teens.

One park you don’t want to miss while in Orlando, Florida is Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom. Animal Kingdom is an amusement park based around animals. There are rides, shows, a safari and other attractions ready to delight visitors of all ages.

Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World is set around their “Tree of Life”. The Tree of Life sets in the center of the park while different regions are represented all around it. Inside this 14 story tall tree which showcases over 300 carvings is a theater which houses a 3D animated show, “A Bug’s Life”.

Animal Kingdom is set up in a circular pattern around the Tree of Life. There are countries represented such as Africa and Asia, along with other sections such as Dino Land USA. Each section of the park is themed in the manner it is named. Dino Land USA offers rides such as Dinosaur, a wild thriller with large dinosaur animatronics to the Primeval Whirl which spins you while it thrills. Africa delights with a ride through safari called the Kilimanjaro Safari with animals such as elephants, giraffes and lions.

Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain is Animal Kingdom’s latest and greatest thrill with a rollercoaster ride with surprises and twists. This massive structure took years to build and is extremely popular with the crowds. Beware of the Yeti!

There are rides that suit all ages and tastes as well as entertainment. One of the things Walt Disney World does is balance the fun so that the entire family can enjoy their day together.

There is no lack of wonderful shows for all ages. The Festival of the Lion King is sure to please, as well as Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle Parade which makes its way through the park each day.

Meals are offered with both counter service and sit down restaurants. A Rainforest CafÃ?© is on site near the entrance. Flame Tree Barbeque offers counter service with tables nearby and the Restaurantosaurus offers McDonald’s favorites in an air conditioned environment. Outside tables are also available.

As in most tours, there are tours available to see how things are done or to see the park in a new way. Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom is an amusement park that will delight all the members of your party.
