What Casinos Have Live Texas Hold’em Tables in Kansas City

So you love Texas Hold’em and you are sick of playing at home with your buddies for a measly $40 dollars. You have the poker bug and the only cure is to be at a real table with real players. Calling their bluffs and beating their pocket queens with a flush draw on the river. I know how you feel and I love a good game of poker and have been trying to find as many games as I can to sharpen my skills. So where can you play in Kansas City, there are more places than you would think.

Most of the major casinos now have poker rooms where you can come and join a table for some open play or you can join one of their many tournaments. There are currently 3 casinos in the Kansas City area that have poker rooms The Ameristar, and Harrah’s, The Argosy will soon be the third to have a poker room. Both The Ameristar and Harrah’s have daily tournaments featuring no-limit and limit tables.

Harrah’s Poker room is located on the second level of the casino and features 12 beautiful tables to play Hold’em on. Every day they have $100 – $200 dollar buy in no limit Texas Hold’em at 10am and Noon. Then they have various scheduled tournaments throughout the week, the schedule is as follows:

With all these tournaments you are sure to get your fill of Hold’em, and if you are a new comer to the game don’t worry just show up Thursday night at 6pm and join one of the learn to play tables. In no time you will be a pro ready to take on Phil Ivey.
Suggestions I have are practice there are some real good players coming to these tournaments, many of them aren’t there just for fun they are there earning a living. Second make sure you register early these tournaments fill up fast, and you don’t want to be the guy who couldn’t get into the tournament. The Ameristar has a poker room as well, and they have weekly tournaments as well. They to have No Limit Texas Hold’em daily starting at 10am so get there early and win some money. They have various tournaments throughout the week as well, the schedule looks like this:

With tournaments four days out of the week you have plenty of chances to catch a game. Don’t forget some of the players aren’t here purely for recreation and leisure. There are some serious poker players coming to the table expecting to walk away with your money and everyone else’s that they can.

The Ameristar also has a monthly tournament just for the ladies. Ladies only – No Limit Texas Hold’em at 7:00 pm the first Monday of the Month, 60 players max $40 buy in. I love that they have this tournament; I love that they can have a tournament to play just other females in this predominantly male game.

Ameristar also has some 2006/2007 World Poker Tour Satellite games scheduled. Come out and try to win a seat in the biggest Texas Hold’em game of the year. These games are on the following nights and times:

You can’t complain about any of this, so many games you can join any day of the week at two of the premier casinos in the Kansas City area. Plenty of tables and tournaments for everyone to come out and be a part of, it’s a great experience to sit at a real table with other players and work your way to the final table. Way better than a Friday night with Tom and Bill complaining about their work and having to deal with the wife saying why do you have poker night every week.
