What School Supplies Does Your Kindergartener Need?

If your little one will be starting school for the first time you are probably wondering exactly what do they need for school. Well as you well know most kindergartners do not need what most older children need. First they will need a backpack, one that fits them well. Next they will need at least one pack of number two pencils, and of course a lunch box. When you pack their backpack for the first day of school you will only need to include one pencil. They may not even use it since kindergarten teachers usually supply everything that your child will need. But it is always a good idea to have it handy just in case. They will also need the following items to keep at home a large box or crayons, markers, at least two notebooks, plenty of erasers, pencil sharpener, glue, and plenty of vitamins.

Lets discuss the importance of the vitamins. All parents are aware of the fact that when your little one goes back to school there are plenty of germs just waiting for them. By making sure they take their vitamin everyday, you can strengthen their immune system, and decrease their chances of actually getting sick. You are probably wondering why your child will need at least two notebooks to keep at home. Well this is for them to practice, writing their letters, and numbers. You want to make it a point to reinforce what is being taught at school. You do not want to use plain construction paper for them to practice on since there are no lines on them. Your child needs to practice wring in between the lines and learn how to work with the margins. When it comes to back to school supplies for this age level it is more important to make sure that you are well stocked and prepared at home for what your child will need to get done. You don’t want to wait until your child is given their first assignment and then run out to the store to purchase what they need to complete the assignment. Another suggestion on how to find out what your kindergartner will need for school is to ask the teacher. She should be able to give you a list of some of the items they will need. Some teachers will even make a list for you to take home with you.
