When Someone Dies is God Calling Them Home?
From the time we are born, we begin our journey home. God is calling us. God is calling us to have a loving relationship with him so that we will know how to have a loving relationship with others. God is our spiritual parent from birth. GOD IS LOVE! My brother went home to see God on Christmas.
We grow up from an infant not knowing anything but love, and the need for nurturing and food. We grow into adolescence where we begin to take in life as we see it and as we learn it. Life teaches us good and evil things. From adolescence into adulthood we shape our life through making decisions. God is calling us. It is important for us to heed God’s call because He knows what is best for me and you. Some never respond to God’s call, some respond immediately, some respond but hesitate, some respond and then turn away, but all of us are being called to God by God. It is up to us to make the choice to listen to God’s call for us.
He is calling me now. He wants me to enjoy life and be happy. He is calling you now. He wants you to enjoy life and be happy. He wants us to know that it is not enough to simply enjoy life and be happy though. God wants us to know that we have a soul that is spirit; a soul that will live on after the body dies. God wants us to realize that the soul and the body were created by Him to work together as one in the same spirit to be able to communicate with Him.
WHY
God loves us like His children and wants to be able to help us when we need Him. The only way to communicate with God is in spirit and in truth. God wants us to know that just like we came into the world, as an infant needing to be taken care of without any knowledge or sense of being in control of anything, we will leave this world.
WHAT THE BIBLE HAS TO SAY ABOUT IT
The Bible speaks of a man not being able to make one hair black or white on his head Matthew 5:36 and for us to be pure in heart Matthew 5:8 “Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.”
Jesus said those that worship God must worship Him in spirit and in truth, John 4: 23-24. The truth is we must do all we can, and know that God will do the rest. My friend told me “if you do 1%, God will do the other 99% for you.” Through prayer and fasting God teaches us what we must do, but you have to know how to communicate with God through His own words, the words of Jesus and His disciples, and the prophets in the Bible. Isaiah 55:9 says “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:11 says “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” So we must understand that it is the Lord God whose word is sufficient to accomplish everything in our life. We just have to trust in God and His word.
There is nothing that should stop anyone from heading God’s call for them. All a person has to do is just accept what God has to offer, eternal life for your spirit soul. Accept it like you do a present from your parent. God’s love is a present to us all. No matter what we have or don’t have, did or did not do, it is a present that he wants us to have. Isaiah 55:1 says “Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.” God’s salvation, love, mercy and grace are free, He just wants us to accept it and allow our spirit soul to find its way back home to God.
MY BROTHER’S PASSING
I am glad that my brother was able to call on Jesus to help him. My brother suffered, but not too much. God knew just how much he could stand. When someone you love is dying and dies, it is never easy to take. We read the word of God to him, my sisters played gospel music for him to usher in the spirit of God (to listen to gospel music, I recommend you visit www.live365.com ), played sermons on tape for him, (to listen to a variety of preachers I suggest visiting http://www.oneplace.com ), my brothers and I encouraged him in the word of God, we all preached salvation to him through the word of God. He told me that he went to God with all of himself because that is all he had to come to God with. He said, “Like you told me baby brotha, I have got to come to God with me. All I have is me to come to him with. I’ve got to come to the table with everything I have got to get to God.” At that point I knew my brother was listening to God’s call for him to come home. Only God knows, what my brother was thinking when he died on Christmas morning December 25, 2005, but I’m sure it had something to do with God because he was calling on the name of Jesus as he was passing away from this life.
His sons said, “That was just like Dad to go out on Christmas day.” To understand this statement, you would have to understand the uniqueness of Estus T. Berry Jr. He was a loving person who always enjoyed people. He never met a stranger and he treated you like you were his family. He had a way of making you feel special. He was a charming man. I think God wanted to make him feel special on this Christmas day, the day that we celebrate the birth of Jesus. Now our family will rejoice on this day for Estus T. Berry Jr.’s spirit soul birth into the after life. From this moment on, Christmas will be even more special to us who miss and love Estus T.
WHAT ABOUT US STILL LIVING?
“I hope that today you find true love, I hope that you get all the things that you dream of, I hope that you never give up, life goes on.” are lyrics from a song from a music group called Floetry. One thing for the living which is a constant is “facing the past is always harder than moving into the future,” another lyric from a song from the singing group Floetry. Psalms 139:8 says, “If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.” Sometimes in life we feel like we are in heaven and then other times we feel like we are in hell. All of the time, God is with us if we abide in Him and allow Him to abide in us. I want everyone to know that God does not leave us; we leave God, but we can always come back home.
Whatever your past, God will meet you at the door when you come back home to Him and He will bless you. The Bible says, in Luke 11:10 “For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.” The book of Revelation 3:20 says “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” If you come to God, sup with Him and learn of Him and how to communicate with Him, He will bless you. With God’s blessing you can put the past behind you and never look back at it the same way. The Bible says, in the book of Luke 9:62, “And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” God will bless you never to look back at your past again. This kind of blessing is not automatic, you have to accept it. It’s a gift just for you.
You have to want a relationship with God to really experience God’s love, just like you would have to want a relationship with your loved one to experience their love. The difference is, you don’t have to work for God’s love, you just have to accept it. God’s love is all that you need.
There are many spirits we deal with on a daily basis. You have to make a choice to listen to God’s call for you. God is a spirit and His spirit is not complicated; it’s not something you can work for, and it’s not something that will make you do anything. God’s spirit is gentle, warm, loving and meek toward His children. Just like any natural parent would be toward their child. Like a parent, God simply wants to GIVE you good things because you are His child. Like a parent, God has rules to live by that His children must obey or they have to leave the house. Unlike some parent’s though, if you have left the house and you want to come home, you are always welcome back in God’s house. Some natural parents refuse to allow his or her child to come back home. God’s love is not like that, it is sooooo much better. Choose today to accept God and his love for you. He is calling you right now, just listen. I hear Him and I have made my choice to love God and accept His gift of eternal life for my spirit soul. How about you? Do you hear God calling you? If so, please e-mail me and let me know your answer is. I would be very interested to know.
