Where to Buy Halloween Costumes and Accessories in Pensacola, Florida

If you are going to be spending Halloween in the Pensacola, Florida area then you need to know where to go for Halloween costumes. Fortunately, Pensacola has been moving toward making Halloween a much bigger holiday celebration than in some other Religious Right-dominated towns that want to ban Halloween for their mistaken conception that it is a holiday meant to celebrate witches and demons and devils and the like. Oh sure, you can still find plenty of alternative Halloween events similar to the one in that legendary King of the Hill episode, but for the most part if you come here around the end of October you should expect warm welcomes if you show up in costume. In fact, there seems to be more Halloween costume choices just about every year in Pensacola.

Obviously, just like every other town that has a Spencer’s Gifts you can always walk into either Cordova Mall or University Mall and head straight to Spencer’s beginning usually around the end of September and find Halloween costumes. The only problem is that the supply is limited. Most Spencer’s Gifts stores just aren’t that big enough to handle an extensive supply of Halloween costumes and the ones in Pensacola are no exception. Still, if your taste runs to basics like Dracula, sexy devils or currently popular celebrities, you can usually find what you need at Spencer’s.

But if you really want to get into the Halloween spirit in Pensacola and wow people, there are better places to go. Here are the best Halloween costume and supply stores in Pensacola.

Party City:
6929 North 9th St
Pensacola, FL 32504

Party City is a great place in Pensacola to plan for Halloween, featuring a jaw-droppingly impressive selection of costumes, masks, makeup, and props. In addition, you can get a preview of what to expect inside the store by first visiting the Party City web site. During the Halloween season, Party City gives itself over to the holiday with abandon, featuring many of the costumes available on the web site that you can instantly purchase inside the store. Party City also features an outstanding collection of masks. What may set them apart from most other Halloween costume shops, however, is the phenomenal set of accessories. Gloves, swords, glasses, shoes, teeth, wigs, weaponsyou name it and you can find something at Party City to augment the overall effect of your Halloween costume. Party City may not necessarily be your first stop for Halloween shopping in Pensacola, but you would be doing a great disservice to yourself to completely ignore it.

Gabriell’s Party Supplies:
2600 W Fairfield Dr.
Pensacola, FL 32505

Gabriell’s is another don’t-miss store for Halloween fun in Pensacola. While not as extensive as Party City in the past, they recently moved to a much larger location that promises to give them the ability to increase their inventory. Even if Gabriell’s Party Supplies doesn’t have the selection of Party City, that is not to suggest they won’t have what you are looking for. Indeed, in the past Gabriell’s has sort of set itself apart by featuring some Halloween costumes that may be considered alternative or off-the-beaten path. Yes, you’ll still find your basic monsters, devils, and Elvis costumes, but if you take the time to explore you just might find something a little unique. Also, Gabriell’s comes mightily close to giving Party City a run for its money as far as accessories go.

Marsha’s Menagerie:
3620 Barrancas Ave.
Pensacola, FL. 32507

If you’re looking for a costume that is of the highest quality and comes completely decked out with everything you’ll need, but don’t necessarily want to buy it, then Marsha’s Menagerie is the Halloween shop for you. That’s not to say you can’t buy costumes if you’re in the mood, but if you’re looking for a Halloween rental costume, look no further. Marsha’s Menagerie offers probably the highest quality costumes in Pensacola. For one thing, Marsha’s is also a vintage clothing store so they deal firstly with nice clothing and secondly with real period fashions for some of their costumes. Depending on the detail the costume rental prices range from $70 for a very nice My Fair Lady outfit to $55 for a Vegas-era white bell-bottomed Elvis costume.

Costume Showcase:
503 Brent Lane
Pensacola, FL 32501

Costume Showcase is easy to miss because it’s a small shop adjacent to its primary business, which is a bridal store. Though small, Costume Showcase does have a lot of bang for its back. You won’t nearly the selection that the others have, nor the quality of merchandise you will find at Marsha’s Menagerie, but it’s great place for family shopping. This may, in fact, be the most family-friendly Halloween costume shop in Pensacola, focusing more on fun than on horror.
