Whitewater rafting suggestion 1: Know the rapids. Rapids are classified from 1 to 5. 1 is a little more violent than a calm river while class 5 rapids are for serious pros only. Find a level that suits your experience and fitness.
Whitewater rafting suggestion 2: Make sure you wear appropriate clothing. If it is summer loose cotton tees and shorts will do, while in winter light woolens are needed. You will warm up and sweat while rafting so you don’t need heavy jackets.
Whitewater rafting suggestion 3: Shoes are also an important part of your attire when going whitewater rafting. Simple tennis shoes which give you a good grip on the floor of the raft are ideal. No fancy or leather shoes please.
Whitewater rafting suggestion 4: Preexisting medical conditions must be shared with your whitewater rafting guide. Also consult a doctor if you suffer form a heart condition before you set out for a rafting trip.
Whitewater rafting suggestion 5: Follow instructions. The guide will share a list of do’s and don’ts before the start of the trip. Listen carefully and follow instructions.
Whitewater rafting suggestion 6: Don’t panic in case of emergency. If you are thrown overboard float on you back till the raft is able to turn around and pick you up.
