Why I Hate David Spade
During the early 1990s David Spade was on top of his career. He was making movies with big time funny man Chris Farley, making appearances on television and radio, and also had a spot on Saturday Night Live for a few years. But is David Spade really funny? Is is really possible for him to be successful as a comedian without pairing up with someone funnier than himself?
We watched David Spade in movies like Tommy Boy and Black Sheep, but it was always obvious who the star of the film was. David Spade was cast as the sidekick, but acted like he was a star. Oh come on! Everyone knows that David Spade is is not funny on his own. Even when he was a cast member of Saturday Night Live he never had a reoccurring character. We all remember seeing David Spade in the Gapardy skits, and he would have never lasted 10 seconds without Adam Sandler and Chris Farley.
I am tired of seeing David Spade only playing two characters. He is either the stupid looser guy like in the movie Joe Dirt, or the dork, who is a jerk because he thinks he is better than everyone. Of course this character always has some lesson to learn by the end of the movie, which is supposed to make you like him, but I don’t and I never will.
After David Spade’s many attempts at being funny he still keeps trying. Now he has a show on Comedy Central called the Showbiz Show with David Spade. It is one of the worst shows in the history of the world. David Spade is purely mean and egotistical. Who does he think he is? He makes fun of people because they are fat, stupid, ugly, or say dumb things.
He laughs at people who trip on the red carpet in front of cameras. And why? He is angry. David Spade must be upset. I think he realizes no one would even care if he fell on the red carpet and broke his nose. I think he knows no one would have even noticed. All the camera men were too busy talking to Dave Chappelle, a much funnier David.
The thing that bothers me most about David Spade is the fact he is a D list actor who thinks he is A list. David Spade will never be an A list actor or comedian. First of all he doesn’t have the look, he isn’t tall enough, and he carries a huge ego. The ego of David Spade is like a blimp painted neon orange following him around. It says look at me! I’m trying too hard! I should just retire! Even in pictures you can see the egotistical David Spade. Sometimes I wonder if he really thinks he is sexy and good looking as he seems to say by his photographs. Give me a break!
David Spade will never hold his own in comedy, movies, or television. I have never heard anything original in David Spade’s jokes. They are just bad versions of someone else’s jokes that weren’t funny to begin with. David Spade, I am begging you. If there is anything else you can do in this world, other than be a comedian/actor, do it.
