Why Obama Care Will Need Changes in Order to Work

Obamacare might be the new health care law of the land, but one thing is certain: as is, the Affordable Care Act will not fly, and will require at least a few significant changes in order to meld into the American health care system.

American’s who already have active health care plans and do not need the ACA to require them to obtain insurance, are finding either large increases in prices, or their plans cancelled altogether.

“I personally believe, even if it takes a change in the law, the president should honor the commitment the federal government made to those people and let them keep what they’ve got,” former president Bill Clinton said during an interview with OZY.com

President Obama’s recent statement to these effected people to “shop around,” is also unacceptable. Why should they shop around when they already have the insurance plan they want?

According to Reuters, president Obama said “Just shop around in the new marketplace. You’re going to get a better deal.”

President Obama got his debt ceiling reprieve and government back open again without having to, as he put it, be held at ransom to do so. I can assure you though, after the holidays are behind us and the extensions for debt and governnment spending come back early this coming year, the President will compromise and he will not call it ransom. “The only thing I will say is that we’re not going to pay a ransom for America paying it’s bill,” Obama said at an October 8, 2013 press conference (USA Today).

He will call it good sense and politics, even if he is not eligible to run for president again.
