Why You May Not Want to Do like the Celebrities and Marry a Younger Man!
Many women in Hollywood now seem to be setting a new trend. The reason why I say new is because in the past most women, celebrities included preferred to marry men that were older than them. Nowadays it seems that women like Demi Moore and choosing to marry men who are a lot younger than them. Why the sudden change? Do they know something that we don’t know? It may be because a younger man makes them feel younger, but if you think about it there are some reasons why you may hesitate to do the same. This article list several reasons why you may want to think twice before choosing to marry down like the celebrities.
1. Men take longer to mature than women do. Everyone knows that women mature at a faster rate than men. So if you marry or date a man that is in his early twenties chances are that he still has the mind of a teenager. This is probably why so many women choose to wait until a man has at least reached his thirties before they decide to date a younger man.
2. The marriage probably won’t last. In most cases where a women marries a man that is a lot younger than her the marriage ends up failing. This is especially the case if there is a ten to twenty year age difference. As both the man and women continue to grow and mature your opinions and goals are bound to change with it. When this happens you may find that you are no longer happy with the person that you thought you would spend the rest of your life with.
3. You can’t treat a man like a child forever. I spoke to several women who have married a younger man and they felt that doing this gives them more control in the marriage. They don’t have to follow the lead of their husband since they are the more mature one. If you are thinking the same way then you can be assured that no happiness will result with this.
4. Financially may be unable to support you. Not in the case of Demi Moore she has nothing to worry about since her younger husband is fully capable of supporting everyone. But in the regular world most young men do not make enough money to support a wife. They are probably not even thinking about making enough money to support their wife. This is usually how arguments begin to arise over money issues.
5. If you make more money he may begin to resent it. In most cases women who are a lot older then the men they marry tend to make a lot more money. This will definitely cause problems in any marriage. The same happens in Hollywood when one celebrity becomes more popular than their spouse. Most men just can not deal with it.
The bottom line is that if you really take a look at the life of a celebrity they switch husbands and wives more than anyone. But their problems revolve more around the fact that their lives are constantly publicized. This is not to say that if you marry a younger man it will not work. There are many cases where marrying a younger man does work for some. It is really work taking the extra time to think things through. So many women see celebrities do it so they feel that they can too. Instead of trying to live the life of a celebrity it may be better for you to just be yourself and find the right fit for you.
