About London Cheese and Wine Festival

The London Cheese and wine festival is held in spring and autumn of each year. The lethal duo of Cheese and Wine is at its best there, with exotic flavors that give the air a touch of joy, pure indulgence and merriness. Not only do you get to taste the finest blends of wine and perfect cheese slice, you also get to learn how to make them yourself. Yes! Some of the best chefs are there to tell you their recipes and those magical tips they have. At the festival you get taste flavors not just from the United Kingdom, but from all across the world.

    History:

    The location, Southbank Centre, gives the London Cheese and Wine festival just the right touch of glamour and richness. Southbank is a food heaven with its series of food demonstrations and festivals. It also promotes trade and helps producers market their products to the public. Every year in autumn and spring, Londoners have something to look forward to and that is - endless varieties of the food combo brought them from all over the world. In its fourth year, the festival has become a must attend event and people eagerly await the dates to be announced every season.

    Activities:

    Stalls of wine and cheese will be set up all around the centre with free tastings for the visitors. Demonstrations on how to combine cheese and wine to make a delightful meal will be given. Chefs at every stall will be tutoring eager visitors for recipes. Apart from the tasting, you can also buy wine bottles and cheese from the stalls. The varieties here come from all around the world. Some stalls will also be selling cooking gadgets like cheese makers.

    Timings:

    On the first day i.e Friday 27th April, the festival opens at 11 in the morning and closes at 20:00. On the following days of Saturday and Sunday, it starts at 12:00 and ends at 18:00.

    How to Get there:

    By Tube:

    The Waterloo tube station is at a distance of 0.4 miles of walk travel from the South Bank Centre. From the Tube Station, head northeast towards Station Approach and left onto South Approach before turning right onto York Rd/A3200 and then left on the same road. Now turn left on the same road (York Rd A/3200) and at the roundabout, take the first exit onto Waterloo Rd/A301. Turn left from there and Southbank Centre will be on your right. View Map

    The nearest bus stop is the South Bank, Royal Festival Hall (Stop S)‎‎. The bus that operates there is RV1.
