Apple CEO Tim Cook took to the stage of the All Things Digital conference on Tuesday, May 29 in front of an expecting audience. Cook, who replaced the iconic Steve Jobs as the head of Apple, discussed Apple’s future plans but did not give any details about specific products. Cook did comment on the iPhone maker’s commitment to innovation, secrecy and hinted at a possible TV related product. Some industry insiders feel that Cook and Apple could showcase a new product on June 11 at the yearly Worldwide Developers Conference.

What really interested the conference attendees and most news outlets were Cook’s comments on a TV related product. The Apple chief made it clear that the company had always put a lot of effort behind a few innovative ideas and they would continue to do so. This statement was made along with the CEO’s comment that Apple did not think of their Apple TV product as a hobby and the company was committed to further development of the service.

Analysts who follow Apple and its products claim that several different activities taking place at Apple point to a TV innovation from the tech giant. The first fact used to support their argument is that Apple TV, a box that brings content from online to a TV screen, has sold over 2.8 million units last year. This year the product has already sold almost the same number of Apple TV boxes with three quarters still left in the year. Secondly, Apple is expected to utilize the good working relationship the company has with production studios and its iCloud service to offer what many expect to be a disruptive innovation for TV.
