The patent application explains this as a revolutionary invention and relates it to, "The presentation and management of Desktop GUIs and opening windows on the desktop GUIs." This unique technology largely benefits the users and allows them to group numerous open windows at one time, which are then accessible in an easy to browse stack. These stacks can be visible in a 3D desktop environment. The potential for this type of 3D application is immense as it will take browsing the internet and website design to a whole new level. Websites will have 3D elements that can be triggered and used through the 3D Safari browser.

"A graphical representation indicating the respective value of the grouping property associated with each 3D browsable stack can be displayed in proximity to the 3D browsable stack," the abstract continues. "As the user browses through the open windows in the browsable stack, one window is displayed in a frontal view at a time while the other windows are displayed in a side view. When the user selects an open window from the stack, the 3D desktop can be restored to the 2D desktop, showing the selected window as the current active window of the 2D desktop."

When it comes to grouping of stacks, it will be altogether a different type of application represented by every stack. These applications include emails, word processing documents, windows or browser.

Last year, Google included few 3D graphics capabilities to its rival Chrome browser. Third party add-on products not only supported 3D on browsers but also truly supported Safari. It looks like all the top dogs are looking at developing 3D browsing capabilities as this could be the next big technological leap forwards in internet browsing and browser or website development.
