Application Status Email after Interview

If you applied for a job vacancy some time ago and did not get any response you will be required to send an application status email. This is usually the quickest way to get a general idea from a company regarding the status of your application. Consider greeting the recipient in the first paragraph of the email and say that you are thankful to him or her for reading your email. Remember to be friendly and keep the sentences concise. Try not to lose focus and give all the necessary information regarding your application in the beginning of this paragraph.

Highlight the date and documents you submitted with your application in the second paragraph. It is important to make sure you discuss the documents you attached with your application so that the employer knows your information was complete. Ask the HR manager to inform you about the interview dates in the third paragraph.

    Subject: Request for application status

    Dear Mr. Shane,

I appreciate that you are taking time to read this email as I would like to check the progress of my application that was submitted on December 25, 2012. As per your advertisement in your local newspaper, I submitted my application along with a covering letter and CV. I was advised that I will be notified about the status of my application by the end of December but that did not turn out to be the case.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to communicate with your company for a long time. Therefore, I am sending this email to request your assistance in finding out about the status of my application. I would also request you to inform me, if possible, about the provisional dates of the interview. It will be very kind of you if you can also provide me some information regarding the criteria for the selection procedures.

I will be looking forward to learn about the progress of my application. If you want to know more about my qualification and professional experience, please do not hesitate to contact me at 5555-555 or tomstyles@abc.net.
