Aviation Cocktail Recipe
Aviation Cocktail takes its name to honor the era of flight, in its literal sense. The drink was introduced only a few years after the Wright Brothers introduced their first flight, when men had their feet on the ground but heads in the sky. After the Wright Brother’s invention, this drink was the next big thing to have been experienced by mankind (Exaggeration much? Not really!). Although the Aviation Cocktail lost its past glory because the production of Crème de Violette was suspended (one of the major ingredients that the drink takes its distinctive taste and color from), but now the drink is coming back with a bang, so much so that a group of distillers in the U.S. state of Oregon are now producing Aviation Gin, clearly acknowledging the cocktail’s demand amongst drinkers seeking the cloudy drink. If you’re looking for a mixed drink that tantalizes your taste buds while also giving the buzz that many crave for, an Aviation Cocktail is the drink for you.
Preparation time: 5 minutes.
Serving: 1 glass

Instructions
-
1
Carefully clean the work surface in your kitchen and also all of the utensils and glasses that you will be using to prepare this delightful cocktail. Remember to also wash your hands whenever you handle food items.
-
2
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and the first three ingredients, namely, gin, lemon juice and maraschino liqueur. Remember that you can use your own preference when it comes to adding the various ingredients. Maraschino liqueur can be relatively strong and you should be careful to not add too much of this liqueur.
-
3
Shake vigorously until the ingredients have been mixed properly. Remember you will want to shake everything completely so that you get a nice blend with an excellent texture. Try not to make this cocktail too thin otherwise it will definitely lose its charm. The key is to maintain the perfect balance of ingredients with your personal preferences or tastes.
-
4
Pour the mixture in a cold cocktail glass and serve to your guests. You will want to prepare this cocktail right before serving so that it is fresh and chilled.
-
5
Garnish with a lemon twist or any other item that you feel is suitable. Remember it is entirely up to you how you prepare the necessary ingredients as you can add your own personal touch by adding or subtracting a particular ingredient from the list.
