Chalfont & Latimer Tube Station London
Located in a quiet and serene atmosphere of Buckinghamshire that is far away from the centre of London, the Chalfont and Latimer tube station was opened in 1889 to provide steam dragged train services (upgraded to diesel in 1961) from Aylesbury to London. In 1915, the station got its name from two villages, Chalfont and Latimer that were lying in its surroundings. The station also had a goods yard that was closed down. Later in 1966, it was incorporated with the London Underground and the tube service was started on Metropolitan line to connect Amersham and Chesham stations with Aldgate Tube Station. Technically it lies in travel card zone 8 and serves about 0.3 million passengers annually. Now, the station has two platforms that provide entrance from Bedford Avenue Station Approach. It also offers various facilities such as payphones, car parking, toilets, waiting rooms and gates. Places to explore near Chalfont & Latimer Tube Station.
