Chile Visit Visa from Paris

Chile has a unique ribbon like shape and extends from the southern tip of South America to the mid- region of the continent. The country has an extensive border with the Pacific Ocean and has a wide range of climatic condition because of its geography. The endless coast, rugged mountains and Inca heritage gives tourists from France an opportunity to experience a lot in just one country. French visitors can go from the Southern tip of the country, which is very close to the Antarctic, to the middle of South America. In order for residents of France to get a chance to view the sights and attractions of Chile, they may first need to make a visit to the Consulate General of Chile and apply for a visa.

    French citizens

    Nationals of France do not require a visa from the Chilean consulate. They are allowed to land in the country and receive their visa at the immigration desk.

    Other Nationals

    The Chilean government has different agreements with other non-EU countries and it is best ask the consulate whether you need to apply for a visa. You can do so by sending a request here. The consulate in Paris does not accept phone calls.

    Visa Requirements

    a) Completed application form must be submitted to the consulate. You can get one from the embassy or you download one form here.
    b) A valid passport that will not expire until your departure from Chile.
    c) Proof of funds to use during stay in Chile.
    d) You will also need an invitation letter from an individual or company in Chile. You may also use a hotel reservation.
    e) A return ticket or travel itinerary.

    Submitting application

    The application must be submitted to the Chilean consulate by hand or mail. If you will mail in the application, you should send a return application along with it that has already been paid for.

    Processing times and fees

    The consulate can process application from 1 to 7 days, depending on the demand. The fees for each nationality are different and you will need to contact the consulate using the form here.

    Receiving your visa

    You can either pickup your passport from the embassy after it has been stamped, or you can wait to receive it by mail if you provided a return envelope.
