Crown Estate Office in London
The Crown Estate is a company that deals in commercial property and possesses a large portfolio that is worth nearly £7 billion. This company belongs to the Crown, which is why it is known by this name. However at present, the Crown Estate is not a private property of the monarch any more, therefore it cannot be put up for sale by him/her. Due to this reason, the Crown Estate is run by an independent organization called the Crown Estate Commissioners. The excess revenue earned from the Crown Estate goes to HM Treasury every year. Moreover, the Crown is officially accountable to the Parliament therefore its annual reports are also issued.
