Daiquiri Cocktail Recipe

Daiquiri Cocktail Recipe is very simple to make and all of its ingredients are easily available. Daiquiri is basically a family of cocktails, consisting of limejuice, rum, and sugar or other sweetener. There is an interesting history behind the formation of Daiquiri Cocktail as it is said to have been formed in the late 1800’s in Cuba as a medicinal treatment for malaria, which was incurable disease of that time. There are many versions of unique drink. However, the versions, which were made in the made in the El Floridita bar in Havana, Cuba, gained international recognition. This easy to make cocktail is one of six famous drinks listed in David A. Embury’s classic known as the “the Fine Art of Mixing Drinks.” This recipe makes one drink and is made with light rum, limejuice and sugar syrup. If you want to get best results then use freshly squeezed limejuice. Otherwise, you have the option to use the ready-made packet of limejuice.  This recipe makes just one drink, increase the quantity of the ingredients if you want to entertain more than one people.

Ingredients;

(1 1/2 oz) light rum

(3/4 oz) limejuice

(1/4 oz) sugar syrup

Ice cubes or crushed ice

Instructions

    Place a martini glass in refrigerator until chill properly. Meanwhile, fill half of your cocktail shaker with ice cubes or crushed ice.

    Pour 1 1/2 oz of light rum, 3/4 oz of fresh limejuice and 1/4 oz of sugar syrup into the cocktail shaker containing ice.

    Place the lid of the cocktail shaker on the top and shake it gently for few seconds until all ingredients mix thoroughly.

    The Daiquiri Cocktail is ready, strain it into the pre-chilled martin glass, and serve immediately.
