Delicious Homemade Pizza for Kids

Many people say that Pizza is an Italian dish. That could have right 50 years ago when globalization had not started. But over the years, this combination of bread, vegetables, meat and sauces has become one of the most famous dishes in the world. Nearly every region has its own set of flavours, and pizza franchises boom the most in the food industry. Yet, the main recipe of pizza remains the same even today. Preparation of the pizza base is one of the most difficult tasks in the whole process, and it is because of this fact that many people prefer to order it from restaurant. In this article though, we will introduce a simpler, home friendly recipe for the food which people of all age groups simply adore.

Utensils: Large bowl, water jar, fork, brush, measuring cup, knife and serving plates.

Ingredients:

Pizza dough:
One Large size pizza:
Bread (or “occident”) flour: 3 cups
Whole wheat flour: 1/2 cup
Water: 1 cup
Yeast: 1 tsp
Salt: 1 tsp
Olive oil: 2 tsp

Sauce:
Two large size pizzas:
Tomato paste, plus 2 more cans of water (approximately): 1-3 ounce can
Parmesan cheese: 1-2 tbsp.
Onion powder: 1-2 tsp.
Garlic powder: 1-2 tsp.
Oregano: 1-2 tsp.
Parsley: 1 tbsp.
Black pepper: ½ tsp.

    Take a large bowl and put the dry ingredients into it. Now pour water and mix well till you have a dough. After the dough is prepared, place it in a lightly oiled, covered bowl for around an hour, so that it can rise properly. It will get to double its size nearly. Now take the dough and punch it down to its original size. Leave it for half an hour once again, the dough swells up to double size again.

    Now take the dough, press and stretch it, to give it a round shape. Now take a fork and punch some holes into the dough.

    Next step involves the spreading of the sauce. The sauce can actually be prepared before hand and put in a refrigerator. For the preparation of the sauce, put all the mentioned ingredients into the pan, until the mixture starts to bubble up. Cool down the mixture and it is ready to use.

    After spreading the sauce, cheese is spread. Pre-shredded “Italian” cheese mixes or mozzarella can be used, followed by beef, chicken, sausage, and a host of vegetables (as per your taste). Considering the pizza is being for the kids, there should be a lot of onions, capsicums, tomatoes, and less mozzarella.

    Brush the edges of the crust with oil and put the pizza in an oven at 425°-450° F for about 45 minutes.
