Difference between Apple Maps and Google Maps
Google and Apple are the biggest competitors. Each company is determined to establish its dominance across the globe. And therefore, they continue to release new applications, services and features. Google Maps and Apple Maps are two different mapping services provided to the mobile and computer users.
Google Maps is relatively old than Apple Maps. The former of the two holds the edge in almost every aspect. It provides better street layout with relatively more traditional view. Apple Maps although use more colourful design, it becomes a little difficult for the user to read the location.
Google Maps is more rigid and descriptive, while Apple Maps is stylish.
Google Maps’ spectrum is way bigger, as it provides traffic details for more cities than Apple Maps. The latter one also does not offer public transportation. Google Maps is a winner when it comes to voiced turn-by-by directions. Apple Maps, however, has better notification features.

Google Maps
It is a web mapping service provided by Google to its users. It has not covered the entire world yet, but the service offers street view of all the big cities in America, England, France and other developed countries. Google Maps generate images through satellite.
The idea was first generated by two Danish brothers; Lars and Jens Rasmussen. It was originally created as a C++ program but with time, the service was developed. Google acquired this service back in 2004, and subsequently turned it into a web application.
Google Maps is not all about earth. Since it generates images through satellite, one can view Moon, Mars and other planet through this application. Among the service’s main features are: Google Transit, Google Ride Finder, Google Map Maps, Google Street View, and Google Aerial View.

Apple Maps
After great success of Google Maps, Apple also entered the field, and launched its own mapping service. Apple’s service is still in its early days, and has a smaller spectrum than Google Maps. Although the iPhone users can even use Google Maps, Apple Maps is a built-in app that performs slightly better on Apple devices. The company has hired two different companies for the mapping services. Apple Maps still has plenty of issues, but the administration is determined to fix them as soon as possible.
