Lyrica Pregabalin’s generic name is Pregabalin and it belongs to the antiepileptic anticonvulsant family. This drug’s mechanism slows down blood pressure which often causes seizures. Lyrica Pregabalin also gives effective pain relief that arises due to the blockage of nerve signals from the brain. Along with seizure treatment, Lyrica Pregabalin is also given in treatment of fibromyalgia, diabetic neuropathy, post herpetic neuralgia and neuropathy pain. This drug is very potent and you need to make sure while prescribing this to patients that someone might be allergic to this drug. There are also various conditions in which you need to take great care as to whether anyone is suffering from kidney disorders, bleeding disorders, low platelet count, alcohol consumption, depression or suicidal thoughts. In pregnant women especially, you should be careful as this drug might harm the baby. This drug is also not prescribed to children under 18 years of age. The level of potency in the drug also has various side effects that arise slowly. People on Lyrica Pregabalin medication may face blurred vision, muscle pain, weakness, easy bleeding, limb swelling, weight gain, drowsiness, breast swelling, constipation, difficulty in concentration and others.

Gabapentin Neurontin
Gabapentin Neurontin’s generic name is Horizant or Neurontin. This drug also belongs to the antiepileptic anticonvulsant family and treats people who suffer from epilepsy. It is also prescribed to treat post herpetic neuralgia and restless leg syndrome. This drug can be prescribed to children. Gabapentin Neurontin is not considered as potent as other related drugs which treat epilepsy. The mechanism is not that different from the Lyrica Pregabalin but still this drug has slightly lower side effects.
