Difference Between Samsung Focus and HTC Thunderbolt 4G

The HTC Thunderbolt 4G and Samsung Focus are two different smartphones, and both feature latest operating systems, from different developers. The HTC Thunderbolt 4G uses Android platform from Google, whereas the Samsung Focus has Microsoft’s fledgling OS installed in it.

The Windows 7 OS used in Samsung Focus is completely different than its previous version, the Windows Mobile 6.5. Even though, the Windows 7 OS does not have as much apps as Android, it has the potential to grow in the future to come, because of Microsoft’s potential to make quick progress in each of its projects.

Another major difference between the two is the networks they are on. The HTC Thunderbolt 4G is basically a CDMA phone and is used in only some parts of Canada, USA and some other countries. The CDMA phones do not use any SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card to connect to a particular telecom company. In fact, they are coded by the companies, and it is really difficult to change the service providers on CDMA phones.

On the other hand, Samsung Focus is a GSM phone, which uses SIM cards to use a particular telecom company’s service. You can change the network provider at any time you want, by just replacing the old SIM with a new one. So, you can take your GSM phone anywhere in the world and use it just by changing the SIM card.

The feature that makes HTC Thunderbolt 4G superior than Samsung Focus is its 8 megapixel camera, compared to 5 megapixel camera installed in Samsung Focus. In addition to that, Thunderbolt has dual LED flashes installed just beside the camera, which allow the users to take bright pictures even in low light areas. On the other hand, Samsung Focus has only one LED light installed in it.

HTC Thunderbolt 4G has a 1.3 megapixel camera installed at the top of the front screen, for video calling. It is may appear a good quality camera, yet, it is much better than the VGA camera installed for video calling in Samsung Focus.

Thunderbolt also has a slightly bigger screen, around one third of an inch bigger, compared to that of in Samsung Focus. This is not a major difference, however, the screen in Thunderbolt gives better view compared to that in Focus.
