Difference Between Strategic Marketing and Management

The purpose of any business entity is to maximise its profits. It seeks newer ways and avenues to expand its revenue base and in the process, earn more at the end of the day. There are different departments in any business organisation that perform tasks so that the whole operation runs smoothly and the organisation can move in the right direction.

Management and marketing are two of the most important aspects of any organisation. They have their own functions and if these two departments are strong, a company is bound to soar higher. The marketing department is related to the product research and development as well as it promotion and taking care of the sales channel.

The management meanwhile takes care of the smooth running of all the operations related to the manufacturing or the goods or provision of the services as well as other affairs that are related to the organisation.

The marketing department has to work within the given framework and the philosophy of the organisation and they cannot work outside the boundaries that have been set. The management of the organisation is responsible for making these guidelines and making sure that they are implemented upon. It is only the management that can make changes to the existing practices.

    The purpose of strategic marketing is to produce and place the product or service in a manner in which it gains the most audience and can stand alone.

    Since most companies will be offering similar products or services, it is important that it is designed in such a manner that it can be differentiated from the others and consumers can relate to it.

    It is by no means any easy task and there are experts that are hired for this purpose by organisations who have lifelong experiences in the field.

    The function needs people to work in the field as well as plan in the offices on the basis of the data that has been collected and the job requires a lot of creativity from the team members in order to get desired results.

    Management

    Management is the art and science of steering the ship of an organisation. It is the duty of the management to make sure that all the tasks are fulfilled on time and are done as per the law and in accordance to the policies of the company.

    They are also responsible for making these policies. There are several levels of management and it start form lower to medium and then higher management. It is a rare case that higher management comes in direct contact with the employees of the organisation. It is generally done through medium and lower management.
