Difference Between Switzerland and New Zealand

Switzerland and New Zealand are two very different countries which have almost nothing in common regarding their climate, location, living conditions, population, form of government and culture.

Switzerland is in Europe, divided between the Central Plateau, the Alps, and the Jura. New Zealand on the other hand, is not located in any continent but is an island country in the Pacific Ocean. Both nations and their natives have different interests, hobbies and specialities. While New Zealand can be considered as a sporting nation with some outstanding facilities in their country, the Swiss are not so passionate about sports.

    New Zealand

This is a remote island on the east end of Australia and because of its isolated location this was one of the last islands that saw human settlement.

While Polynesians first settled in this part of the world around 1250–1300 CE, the Europeans first set foot on this land in 1642 CE.

By 1840 the British and Māori people signed a treaty which made New Zealand a colony of the British Empire.

England’s Queen Elizabeth II is also the Queen of New Zealand, which makes her the head of the state as well. She is however, represented by the Governor-General, who is appointed on the recommendations of the Prime Minister.

In New Zealand, rugby attracts more fans than any other sport in the country; however, football and cricket are also among the top games played by the people on this island.
