Drinking Water Inspectorate London

Established in 1990, the Drinking Water Inspectorate, works to ensure the safety and quality of drinking water in England and Wales. The inspectorate vows to safeguard the health of populace and prevent them from toxins or impurities that are harmful to their health. The water safety and hygienne are ensured by testing and inspecting the drinking water companies’ output independently. Manufacturers or suppliers of products to be used in contact with water also seek approval from the Drinking Water Inspectorate. The human resource of inspectorate is divided in to three core teams which are Operational team, Regulatory team and Science and Strategy team.

    Facilities & Services

    Ensures that water companies of England and Wales provide healthy drinking water to the people and adhere to the UK's standards of drinking water. Water quality is tested, the laboratories of water companies is audited every year by the inspectorate and if needed then the company is instructed to take any improvements if necessary. It also probes any operational anomaly, which although is rare to happen, and then furnish recommendations to avoid the incident again.

    How to Get to Drinking Water Inspectorate

    By Tube

    From the St james Park tube station move southwest on Broadway toward St. Ermin's Hill. Keep moving onto Strutton Ground. From the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Horseferry Rd/B323/. The DWI office will be on your left. View Map.

    By Bus

    Buses numbering 507 and C10 will take you to nearby Millbank (Stop NH). From the bus stop go west on Horseferry Rd/B323 toward Thorney St and you will find the DWI office on your right.
