Editor Application Letter

Editing responsibility at a newspaper or an online firm can be fascinating, as the job itself is demanding and challenging. But when it comes to applying for one, people usually find themselves in trouble as to what to write when responding to an advertisement for the position.

Here is how you write an effective editor application letter:

Start the letter by mentioning the source from which you came to know about the vacancy. If you found the vacancy through a newspaper, mention the date the advertisement was published. Then say that you are eligible for the job and meet all the selection criteria.

In the second paragraph, you can briefly mention your qualification and prior editing experience. Bear in mind that the letter is not your CV, so keep it short and to the point.

Conclude the letter by saying you look forward to an interview call.
