Global Village Dubai
Global Village is not just restricted to providing an awe-inspiring shopping experience anymore, it encompasses a lot more than that. It has now spread to provide a multi-faceted and multi-cultural experience that leaves many spell-bounded. Since the past 16 years, it has been presenting people who come to visit it from all parts of the world an experience that has art, entertainment, live performances, shopping and food – all enveloped under the banner of Global Village Dubai.
Although it is a part of the Dubai Shopping Festival; it runs for a longer time than the festival itself, which is testament to it’s success. With over 40 countries having their pavilions to showcase their culture, Global Village Dubai is also an educational experience that exemplifies the word ‘global village’ in its true sense by bringing together different countries.

History
Global Village initially started off in 1996 as a small place along the Dubai Creek. It had kiosks that represented various countries which participated in the event. Attracting 500,000 visitors in its first year, 900,000 in the second with 15 participating countries, the Global Village Dubai has now become a giant.
In 2011, 45 countries participated in the 151 days long event, which pulled 5 million visitors who gave excellent reviews. -

Operational Hours
The Global Village Dubai opens on different times each year for various activities. In 2012, it was held from 21st October till the 30th March 2013. The openings hours are from 4 pm till 12 am from Saturday to Wednesday and 4 pm to 1 am on Thursday and Friday. -

Directions to the Global Village Dubai
There is no tram station near Global Village and the nearest bus stop is 6.9 kms away, making it a walking journey of 1 hour and 23 minutes. Once you get off at Arabian Ranches, Mirador La Coleccion 2, just head southwest and take the 1st exit when you get to the roundabout. From there take two left turns and then turn slightly right to get to the Global Village. The other and probably best way to reach there is either by personal car or a taxi. View Map
