Highbury & Islington Tube Station London
Highbury & Islington Station operates in the northern part of London, where it travels through travel card zone 2 and connect four major lines, which include Northern City Line of the First Capital Connect, Victoria Line and Northern & Eastern lines of the London Over ground. Technically, it is providing services to both Underground system and National Rail but most importantly, it is joining King’s Cross Street Pancras with Finsbury Park station by underground system. At first, when the station was opened in 1872, it was used only by the North London Railway but in 1904, an underground station was started opposite to it on Holloway Road. Afterwards, station underwent subsequent renovations, including the start of Victoria & Northern city lines and finally rebuilding of over ground platform in 2010. Now, with its complete operations at both levels, the station serves about 5.7 million commuters annually and provides different services such as payphones, toilets, gates and waiting rooms. However, there is only one point which serves as entry and exit to station i.e. Holloway Road & High Bury Corner. Furthermore, administration of the London underground and Islington borough of London are working together to provide better access to the station.
