Household Cavalry Museum London
The Household Cavalry Museum gives an opportunity to the visitors to have a look at troopers and horses in 18th century stables. People get to know the tough life stories and the rigorous training and exceptional objects of the troopers. At the Household Cavalary Museum people are also told about the techniques used by soldiers to control their horses and the preparations for inspections. The collections displayed at the museum include gallantry awards, horse furniture and music instruments. People are awe-inspired at the sight of legacies like two silverdrums given in 1831 by Wiliam IV, the pistol ball that injured Sir Robert Hill and the cork leg that was owned by the Marquess of Anglesy.

History
The Hosehold Cavalry was formed in 1661 with the orders of King Charles II. The Household Cavalry Museum is in Houseguards museum in Whitehall, central London. From 1750, it is the head quarter of Household Division. The Household Museum was formed with an objective to showcase behind the curtain preparations for ceremonial protocols and the proud legacy and objects of the of the soldiers. -

Collections to see at Household Cavalry
In addition to the amazing accounts of stories, trainings and ceremonial preparations; the museum showcases collections including impressive objects, horse furniture and music instruments. Some objects of phenominal significance added to the collection are Jacky Charlton’s football cap and the two silver kettledrums given by William IV in 1831. People are amused to watch the staff tending and looking after the horses like checking their shoes, feeding and watering them and adjusting their saddles. -

Tickets and entry for Household Cavalry
For adults the entry fee is GBP 6. Children from 5 to 16 years can get an entry by spending GBP 4. A family ticket package for 2 adults & 3 children can be purchased at GBP 15. -

Operational Hours of Household Cavalry
The museum is open every day except 22 April, and from 24th to 26th December. From March till September, the opening timings are from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. From October to February, the opening timings are from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. -

By Tube
Charing Cross underground station is 0.2 miles. It may take 4 minutes on foot to reach the museum from the underground station. After you get off the tube at the charing cross tube station; head southwest and leave the roundabout by getting onto Whitehall /A3212. The museum would appear on your right hand side. View map

"St James', Horse Guards Parade (SW1) (N-bound)" is the closest bus stop and is just 23 feet away from the museum. The distance can be covered in 6 seconds on foot. Bus number 771 or 772 would drop you at the bus stop and all you need to do is move in the north direction on Whitehall and you will spot the museum on your left side. View map
