  Requirements
  
  The following documents should be submitted to the Russian Embassy or Consulate to obtain a Tourist Visa to enter Russia:
  
  Russian Embassy will require following documents to issue a tourist visa:
  
  Original passport with minimum two free pages for visa stamp or sticker. Applicant’s passport should be valid for at least six months after proposed departure from Russia.
  
  Photocopies of two duly completed and signed visa application form.
  
  Two passport style photos signed on the back.
  
  In case of individual entry provide a hotel confirmation or verification from authorised Russian travel company. This verification must specify confirmation of the visa and reference number.
  
  In case if applicant intends to tour in a group or cruise passenger, provide a letter of the tour or cruise company verifying itinerary. Also provide verification from authorised Russian travel company showing confirmation of the visa and reference number.
  
  As per the Russian law, tourist must register their Russian visa within 7 working days after arriving in the Russian Federation.
  
  If the applicant is staying at a hotel then hotel reception will take care of it for some nominal registration fee.
  
  In case of private stay, applicant’s visa is registration is the responsibility of host. The host will apply at the local police station or post office and fill out this notification form. Do not forget to enclose a photocopy of your passport (visa and photo pages) along with migration card. Host will also present his or her passport.

  Visa Fee
  
  Tourist visa fee for single and double entries up to 14-30 days for invitation next working day $30 and for invitation for next working day is $45.

  Processing Time
  
  If applicant have fulfilled all the requirements then, a normal case is usually processed or granted visa within 14 to 30 working days.

  Get Visa

  Check List
  
  Applicants must do following things before leaving for Russia.
  
  Check again the validity period of your passport.
  
  It is better to get a insurance policy that covers you in case of doing any extreme activities like ice skating etc along with your luggage and health.
  
  Also tell a family member or friend where you are going and when you'll return. Leaving your contact details of Russian accomodation is not a bad idea.
  
  Get the inforamtion regarding what type of monetary things are accepted widely in Russia such debit/credit card, cash or cheques or travellers cheques.
  
  Its good to have reputed travel guide with you, if the person is not familiar with the country he or she is travelling to.
  
  You should also save some emergency numbers (police, medical help, fire biregade etc) of Russian city in which you are going to stay.
  
  72 hours before your flight to Russia check from authorities that your plane is scheduled on time or not.

  Things Tourists are Allowed to Carry
  
  Tourists are allowed to carry as much cash money as they would like but in case of funds above $3000, they will require permission to export currency by a special certificate from a Russian bank called "Raz-resh-enih-ye nah vyh-voz vah-lyu-ty" (Permission ).
  
  While credit cards and travel checks need no declaration and are widely accepted.
  
  Reasonable quantity of medicines are allowed to carry.
