Try to familiarise yourself with the blind spots of your vehicle. This can be accomplished by sitting comfortably in the driving seat and buckling up. Look for spots that you cannot see. You will need to use the rear and side mirrors for this purpose because when driving, there is no way you can frequently rotate your head sideways or backwards in order to avoid a blind spot. Moreover, consider talking to more experienced drivers, because it will help you discover the blind spots of the vehicle.

Keep in mind that you may have to adjust the mirrors while driving the vehicle, to ensure that you are prepared.

At first, you may feel very uncomfortable doing this; however, with enough driving experience, rotating your head to avoid blind spots will become very easy.

Before changing lanes, rotate your body to bring it in a 45 degree angle. This will help you ensure that the lane is clear. If it is not, you should be able to see another vehicle in your blind spot. In that case, you will have to wait for the lane to clear before changing lanes.
