How to Batch Convert CSV to XLS

You can save your data sets in the form of a CSV (Comma-Separated Values) format file. If you have too many CSV files and you are planning to convert them to XLS format, then you should go for batch conversion, rather than converting them one by one.

The process of converting a batch of CSV format files to XLS is really easy, provided that you are using the right software program to do so. There are different software programs available on the internet, which allow their users to upload the whole batch at one time and convert them to XLS in just one click.

Instructions

  • 1

Place all your CSV format files into one folder, in order to batch convert them to XLS format. You can then launch your web browser, such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer, depending on your preference.

  • 2

Navigate to your favourite search engine and search for websites where you can find CSV file conversion software programs with batch conversion facility. From the list of search results, open different websites in new tabs and check them one by one.

  • 3

If you find your required software program on a specific website, follow the prompts to download the setup file. Once you click the download button, you will be asked to specify a location where you want to save the file. If your web browser does not ask for the location, then it will save the file to the default location where it normally saves all the download files.

  • 4

Once the download is complete, double click on the setup file and follow the onscreen prompts to complete the installation process. During the installation process, you must agree to the user agreement, or else, you will not be allowed to complete the installation. Click the “Finish” button to end the installation process.

  • 5

Run the program and locate and click the “Select Folder" or "Batch Convert" button in the program window. You can then select the folder where you kept all the CSV files to batch convert.

  • 6

Once you are done with selecting the source folder, you need to define the output file format. Here, you need to select "Excel Spreadsheet" or "XLS".

  • 7

Now click the "Convert" or "Start” button, depending on the program you are using, to start the batch convert. When the conversion process completes, all of your CSV files will be converted to XLS format.
