Therefore they need to train harder than the players at other position. They need to be quick, adaptable, have sharp hands and a good technique. This requires hard training and good knowledge of the game. Also, doing your homework before each game is important.

Understanding Role
You should understand that your role is quite different from other players. At times you need to run and pass the ball, and at others you need to block run and passing. You need to develop your skills keeping in view your different roles. A hard practice can help you achieve this. -

Swift Hands
A lineman is in more contact with the ball than any other player on the field. Therefore, he needs to develop his hands' flexibility to be more sharp. Remember you have to look for the opportunities and then leverage those to your gains. This needs to have sharp hands and also a good grip. Jumping over to the ball to intercept a pass needs to have good grip so that you do not let the ball slip through your hands after successfully intercepting it. -

Be Mindful of Positions
The most important role of an offensive lineman is that he should be able to quickly change his position. He needs to be adaptable and shift his focus quickly to concentrate on every role he gets. -

Training Hard
Training and practice can help a lineman in achievement of the objectives quickly. The training gradually helps a lineman to gain knowledge of the game and how he can strategically leverage difference in-between opportunities. He should train regularly and hard enough that he remains fit enough to face the game challenges effectively. -

A lineman should watch videos of his opponents before each game to know who is up against him and what are their strengths and weaknesses. Then he can plan out his game and come on the field with a game strategy.
