Constitution is a body of fundamental principles or established precedents on the basis of which a state or country is governed. All these principles are jotted down on paper and compiled to form a large book called the constitution. Constitutional law handles the implementation of rights, rules and amendments outlined in the constitution of any country.
A constitutional lawyer handles a wide variety of issues ranging from criminal issues, civil rights, real state. It practically touches all aspects of a legal law and a constitutional attorney can practice in any of these domains. Becoming a constitutional lawyer is no different than becoming a criminal, civil lawyer or any other lawyer for that matter.

If you want to pursue a career in law you should decide it early in your college life so that you can develop the traits of a lawyer from an early age and plan things out accordingly. First of develop the habit of working hard during the school life. You need to score top notch grades, firstly studying hard will prepare you for the long study sessions that you will have to undertake later on during the law school. Secondly good grades will help you get admission in a decent graduate program which will then help you in admission to the law school. Participate in debating competitions and mock trials in your high school to develop oratory skills. A good lawyer must have fine public speaking skills.

Get enrolled in a 4 year graduate program as it is the requirement of almost every law school out there. Though the choice of majors have no impact on the admission to the law school it is advisable to select subjects which are related to law so that you can develop good background knowledge about law.

Prepare hard for LSAT (law school admission test). Keep on repeating till you a get a pretty high score in the test. Some law schools give more weightage to the LSAT results while some give more weightage to your graduate degree GPA. The threshold CGPA for most law schools is 3.0 but it is recommended to attain a high GPA as it will help in getting admission in the better law school. After getting admission in the law school keep working hard and pass all exams with flying colours. Get professional experience in a law firm as it has great resume material.
Pass the bar exam after completing the law school and earn your certification as a lawyer. Then start your legal practice with an established constitutional attorney or you can start practice as an independent lawyer as well.
