Have Belief
First and the most important thing for you to be able to become a writer is to have belief in yourself. It is possible that you might have great ideas to work on, but because of disbelief you are unable to start writing. You may also discuss this with another writer and take advice from them. -

Join Clubs
It is better to join a writers' club. You can attend the meetings of the group regularly and discuss your interest for writing novels with them. Generally, the group holds brainstorming meetings and you can get your concepts clear about writing. Sometimes, senior members in the club encourage junior writers to start writing something and then they groom their skills as they continue. It is a good place to learn some basic skills about writing a novel. -

Decide Genre
Before writing, you should think of the areas you want to write on. Select the areas that attract you. For example, if you have interest in sports, create a story around a fictional sportsman. You may also pick some social issues and write good stories on them. -

Once you have decided the genre, search for different topics and read about them. Reading will help you gain knowledge about different topics. You will also know how previous writers have approached the topics and how they formed their stories. This can help you groom your ideas further. -

Another important aspect of your work is commitment to your work. Give your work time and space on a regular basis. Think around the idea and then try to develop it. It is important that alongside the belief you show commitment to your work. Without it you cannot carry out the project successfully and this can also break the rhythm in your ideas and you might not be able to complete it.
