A truck agent is the person who acts as the third party between companies wanting to ship their products over the road and small truck companies or individual truck drivers that can take the products to the required destination. The trucker agent also known as a freight broker or trucking broker helps both parties agree to a fixed rate, throwing out other details. In return, the agent is eligible to claim a portion or fixed percentage of the established rate. Trucker agent’s commission is usually cut from the payment the trucking company or individual truck driver receives.

    Before doing anything else, you must ask yourself if becoming a trucking agent is the right choice. Negotiations with the truck drivers can be a tiring job.
