After completing your undergraduate programme, you must prepare for the LSAT (Law School Admission Test) which is mandatory to get an admission in a law school. Therefore, you must prepare well for the test in order to get good score to get admission in a law school of your choice.

Submit application forms in the law schools where you want to get admission. You will be evaluated on the basis of your college grades, LSAT scores and extracurricular activities. It is very important for you to submit the applications in more than one school so as to have a good backup.

After getting an admission in a law school, you will have to attend it for three years. In the first two years, all the students study the same subjects and in the last year, you will get the option to choose your specialisation. You must work really hard in your studies so as to get good grades. You can also do a clerkship during the last two years of study at a law school which will give you a sound practical exposure of your field.

You will have to pass the bar examination of your state after your law school. It is mandatory to pass the bar examination in order to get the license to practice law.
