You can set up a wrestling ring at your backyard for this purpose and you will be surprised to know that you can perform the entire construction work in just one afternoon.

Instructions

  • 1

Firstly, you need to find an appropriate location for building your wrestling ring at home. Select a flat and levelled piece of ground, with no rocks or any other sharp objects nearby. Your safety is the key thing in the entire process.

  • 2

The dimensions of your wrestling ring needs to be determined beforehand. The size of the ring depends upon the availability of space you have in your backyard. Take a measuring tape to determine the dimensions of the area and accordingly decide the size of the wrestling ring.

  • 3

Take big scissors or a saw to cut a piece of foam to make the floor of your wrestling ring. You better take at least 2 inch thick foam and cut it according to the measurements you have taken earlier. If you don’t find 2-inch thick foam, you can glue together thinner layers of foam to match the same thickness.

  • 4

You have to cover up the foam with waterproof material, such as tarps. You can use a sewing machine to sew tarps together and cover the entire surface of foam with it. Don’t forget to sew the edges, as it will prevent water seepage and keep the foam dry.

  • 5

Take a piece of plywood of the exact size as the foam sheet to make the base of your wrestling ring. Apply glue on plywood and stick the foam to it.

  • 6

Dig four holes at every corner of your ring, at least one foot deep, by using digger.

  • 7

Insert corner posts into each hole and then fill the holes with dirt or cement.

  • 8

Glue the foam onto every corner post or try elastic bands for the same purpose. Padding the posts with foam provides a decent cushion on impacts.

  • 9

Now attach hooks to each post and secure bungee cords of ropes to them. The number of hooks you attach depends upon how many ropes you desire your ring to have.

  • 10

To finish your wrestling ring thread bungee cords through each hook.
