How to Build a Pool Stick Holder
Playing pool with friends and family allow you to spend some quality time together, gossiping and playing a sport at the same time. The best thing about playing pool is that you don’t necessarily need an opponent to play with and you can keep practicing alone the whole day. Having a pool table at home will also require you to have other accessories along with it, just like a pool stick holder for keeping your cues safe at one place. You can build a pool stick holder with minimum time and money at home.
Instructions
-
1
Obtain four pieces of two foot long 1-by-4 inch lumber for making the holder. You can use cheaper pine boards but they need to be straight and finely finished to give a decent look to your holder.
-
2
Take two of the lumber boards and place them over one another. This will make it easy to make holes perfectly aligned.
-
3
The 1-by-4 lumber you are using will have a width of 3 ¾ inches. Measure 1 7/8 inches from either end of the board and use a pencil to draw a straight line right through the centre of the upper board.
-
4
Measure 3 ¼ inches from one end and mark the spot with a pencil to determine the centre of the first hole you have to make in the holder. You will need to mark seven more spots in the same manner after every 2 ½ inches.
-
5
Using a 1 ½ inch spade bit, drill through all the points you have made with the pencil, driving the bit through the upper board completely but enough in the bottom board to leave an impression for the pool stick butts to rest in.
-
6
Use a compass to make a 1 ½ inch circle on a piece of paper. Cut the paper and trace the circle on a piece of felt. You will need to cut eighth circles out of the felt with the same measurement.
-
7
Use glue to affix the felt circles in the impressions you drilled in the bottom board and let them completely dry.
-
8
Now place the remaining board between these two boards, flush their ends and screw into their place firmly. Stain the rack you have made to proceed further.
-
9
Measure four inches from the both ends of the top board and mark the spots with a pencil at the side which shall face the wall. You have to attach two hangers at these spots.
-
10
Drive nails into the wall studs and hang your pool stick holder to them. Make sure you perfectly align it.
