Well, an edible haunted Halloween house is your best bet as this recipe is not only ideal for the celebration but it is also delicious and appetising.

You know, the best thing about this recipe is that you can assemble all the ingredients and make your haunted mansion well before time. This Halloween house can stand for couple of days and then you can have fun with your kids by “demolishing” it.

Moreover, you can entice your kids to eat nutritious things like chocolate, coconut, marshmallows, vanilla cookies, candies etc. You can also ask your kids to help you in making this haunted house and polish up their imagination and creative skills.

The size of your mansion will decide how much time it will take and how many people will be served.

Instructions

  • 1

First of all you will prepare sugar cookies to make the dough. When it’s done, cut the dough in eight quarters and use these pieces as walls, roof and the base of your house.

  • 2

Meanwhile, you will mix food colours with icing and then put the mixture in refrigerator to get chilled. You can also put your cookies in the fridge to make them hard.

  • 3

Now, when your cookies and icing are ready, start making your haunted Halloween house. Take two cookies and bind them with the help of icing. This will be base of the house. Now attach cookies on the sides and back to make walls. Use lots of icing on the sides to keep them from falling.

  • 4

Take two cookies and weld them with icing in a V shape. This will work as your roof. Assemble roof, base and the walls. Use wafers to fill the spaces.

  • 5

Last but not the least, add some spooky effects. You can spread chocolate frosting on the roof and then make a graveyard by cutting vanilla cookies in half and placing them as graves. Use pretzel rods to make windows and doors. Similarly, you can use black liquorice to make spider webs.
