Instructions

Before starting with the building process, you should determine the size of the locker you want to make. It all depends upon your need and the size of the items you want to place inside the lockers. Make sure you write down the dimensions of the lockers after measuring the space it will occupy.

First thing first, you need to cut the plywood into the appropriate size pieces. A table saw will be appropriate for cutting plywood in a straight line. Any other precise wood cutting tool can also be used. Cut 3 pieces of plywood with 18x70 inches dimensions and 4 pieces of 16 ½ x 18 inches size.

  • 3

Take a fine sand paper and start rubbing the sharp edges of cut wooden pieces. Make the entire surface smooth and remove any splinters along the edges.

  • 4

Now place two pieces of 70 inch long plywood on the ground and span a 16 ½ inch x 18 inches piece on the top. You have to repeat the same process at the bottom, making a box which is 70 inches long, 18 inches wide and 18 inches high.

  • 5

After the outer structure is made, you have to add the shelves in the locker. Leave 12 inches space at the top and the bottom and insert the two remaining 16 inch plywood pieces as shelves.

  • 6

Now attach the back of the locker by simply placing it on the box and affix it firmly by applying glue and drilling screws.

  • 7

Sand and file all the edges. Fill up any holes in the wood with putty and sand them afterwards.

  • 8

Paint the locker with good quality wood paint.

  • 9

You can attach hooks within the locker so you can hang jackets and bags.

  • 10

The lockers are to be installed by screwing them to the wall studs.
