How To Care for Skin After a Steam Treatment
Steam treatment is an effective remedy for acne and blackheads, which is why it is one of the most common recommendations that people with skin issues get for a better skin.
However, it is important to continue caring for the skin after receiving steam in order to make the treatment even more effective and get desired results.

A facial mask after steam treatment can serve as an additional remedy for severe acne and blackheads. Whether you are treating your skin with steam at home or receiving a steam in a salon or spa, be sure to follow it up with a mask that contains salicylic acid. The acid deeply penetrates blackheads and therefore helps in removing them. If you want to avoid a facial mask, over-the-counter pore strips can act as a good alternative.

Do not remove the facial mask too early. Leave it there for sufficient time before your start taking it off. In order to remove the mask, use warm water to wash your face and then pat it with a soft clean towel to dry your skin.

Applying oil-free moisturisers with sun-protection factor (SPF) to your skin will keep it looking fresh and healthy after receiving a steam treatment. Before you apply moisturiser to your skin, be sure to rinse it with warm water and pat dry using a clean towel. Never go out in the sun without putting on the moisturiser with SPF.

Continue to target the blackheads and problem acne on your skin using a professional extractor tool. Using your hands is not advised because no matter how thoroughly you clean your hands, they will remain covered in natural oils, which have an opposite effect than what you desire on blackheads and acne. Extractors, on the other hand, will not harm your skin. However, this is only true if you know how to use it properly, as applying too much and uneven pressure will end up scarring your skin.
