How to Catch a Frisbee with One Hand
Frisbee is one of the most liked and fun-filled outdoor sports. It takes a lot of athleticism on the part of the players to compete in it. It is also a game that takes a fair amount of skill to play well, even though it may not appear to be the case when you look at people playing it.
The two main aspects of the game are throwing and catching the frisbee. While normally a frisbee is caught using both hands to cater for the spin and speed, catching the frisbee with one hand, adds to the style and makes the matter more challenging. It is something that is not easy and takes a fair amount of time to master. However, it can be done if you are looking to put in the right amount of effort and apply the right techniques.

1
Get a Feel for the Game
You should start playing the game and get a feel for it before you try to learn some advanced skills such as using a single hand for catching. Many people struggle to catch the swirling frisbee to start off with, even after using both their hands, and only manage to do so when they develop a feel for its rotation, speed and motion.
Understand how the frisbee moves and develop your reaction according to that. It does have a side ways movement and rarely travels entirely straight. -
2
Catch Well with Both Hands
Make sure that you catch the frisbee well with both hands. This will give you much needed confidence to catch it with one hand. -
3
The Right Throw
Not all Frisbee throws can be caught with a single hand and there is a need of getting one at the right height and the right angle for you to be able to catch it. Ideally it should be moving straight and at a waist height or higher for you to catch it with one hand. -
4
Let it Come
Generally if you try to snatch the frisbee, it is likely that you will hit it with your knuckles. Let it come to you before you react. The delayed reaction really works well when it comes to making a good catch. -
5
Catching it
Have your hand in a position, much like catching a baseball with a fielder's glove. Feel the frisbee in your palm before closing your hand for a perfect snatch. Remember this will all happen pretty quickly and the more you practice, the easier it will be for you to catch it.
